MERCER, Barbara Ann (Rathgar, Dublin and formerly of Ravensdale, Co. Louth and Harare, Zimbabwe) - 5th May 2023, unexpectedly but peacefully, in the care of all the staff at St. James’s Hospital. Beloved wife of Michael, much loved mother to Natasha, Jason and Micaela and adored Nana to Ava, Toby, Tanaka, Amber and Riley. She will be very sadly missed by her loving family, son-in-law Rory, daughter-in-law Jerika, sister Gillian, extended family and her dear friends. Rest in Peace. Removal on Wednesday morning (10th May) to the Church of the Three Patrons, Rathgar for Funeral Mass at 10am, followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium. Family flowers only, please. Donations in Lieu to The Irish Cancer Society.

In this impersonal manner I would like to thank Barbara Mercer for her hospitality she has extended to me as a half-stranger in Ravensdale. Looking back at that time, I find that very special, then I thought it was very normal as a teenager.
