Cecilia V Galvin

Sorry to intrude in the condolences to the family but I am hoping that Cecil O'Connell is the same Cecila V Galvin who was one of the earliest women to gain a civil engineering degree from the National University of Ireland, Cork and who joined the Women's Engineering Society (WES) in 1931.

I am keen to write a short biography about her engineering career for WES in preparation for their centenary in 2019.

If anyone is able to help me I can be contacted via nina.baker1@btinternet.com.

regards

Dr Nina Baker

Cecilia V Galvin

Forgive my intrusion in this condolence page, but I am hoping that this Notice refers to Cecila V Galvin who was, in the 1930s one of the early women to take a civil engineering degree at the National University of Ireland in Cork.

I am writing short biographies of interesting women who were pioneers in engineering in the early 20th Century, in preparation for the Women's Engineering Society's centenary in 2019, of which she was a member from 1931.

If anyone can provide any information about her career I would be most grateful: nina.baker1@btinternet.com

Dr Nina Baker
