O'DONOVAN, Joe (Stillorgan, Co. Dublin) died May 10, 2008 - On this the first anniversary of our much loved Joe's death, we, his wife Helen, daughters Kareen and Ann-Marie, sons Peter and Donal together with Joe's mother Nan, sisters Nuala and Anne, brothers Sean and Gerard and extended family would like to thank all those who sympathised with us. The love and support we continue to receive from you all is a measure of the affection and regard you had for Joe and is sincerely appreciated. Your attendance at the removal and funeral Mass, your Mass cards and letters, your donations to charity and most especially your shared memories of Joe have all been of great comfort to us in our time of grief. We wish to thank the priests who officiated at Joe's funeral services, friends who delivered eulogies, the Foxrock choir for the wonderful music and Joe's consulting engineering colleagues from the ACEI who, together with the Hollypark school boys, formed the guard of honour. A special word of thanks to Joe's loyal and dedicated colleagues at Roughan & O'Donovan and to his many friends throughout the engineering profession in Ireland and the wider construction industry both at home and abroad. We are deeply grateful to our relatives, friends, neighbours, Joe's college and school friends and to the members of The Royal Dublin Golf Club. To the doctors and nurses who looked after Joe, your kindness will always be remembered. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Knowing that our loss is shared by so many who knew him as a friend or colleague is of great comfort to us. Hold on to your happy memories of Joe, his smile, songs and stories, as we hold on to ours.
