McCANN, Mary (née Finnegan) (Blackrock, Co. Dublin) September 28, 2022. Peacefully, in her 93rd year, in the care of the wonderful staff at Glengara Park Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Colm, sister of Alan and the late Irene and sister-in-law of the late Eva McCann (September 2022). Very sadly missed by her daughters Deirdre (Gleeson) and Shelagh (Cunningham), son Peter, sons-in-law Frank and Gerry, daughter-in-law Jenny, grandchildren Hugh, Eoin, Hannah, Karen (deceased), Jamie, Mark, Katie, Matt, Isobel and Emma, sister-in-law Deirdre, nephews Barry, John, Stephen and their families, nieces and nephew in the USA and her many friends. May she rest in peace. Funeral Mass at 10.00 am on Monday, October 3rd, in St. John the Baptist Church, Blackrock, followed by cremation at Mt. Jerome Crematorium. Family flowers only please. (died September 28, 2022) On the first anniversary of our beloved mother’s death, Deirdre, Shelagh and Peter, along with her brother Alan and our families wish to express our most sincere gratitude to our extended families, friends, colleagues, neighbours and Mum’s friends, many from her long ICA membership. Your expressions of sympathy and support, cards, letters, funeral attendance, both in person and online, gave us great solace.
We would like to thank Fr. Eddie Conway for the lovely personal Funeral Mass and Paul Byrom for his beautiful singing.Thank you to Graham Dowling and all his team at Carnegies Funeral Directors for their kind and professional care and guidance.
Special thanks to Dr. Lisa Cogan Medical Director, Royal Hospital Donnybrook and all the kind staff there and to Min Wei, Director of Nursing, Glengara Park Nursing Home and all the amazing staff who took exemplary care of mum in her last year.
