GALLAGHER, Eamonn (Professor, Faculty of Agriculture, UCD) - August 11, 2019. Ballyroan Park, D.16, formerly of Bundoran, Co. Donegal. (peacefully), in the wonderful care of the staff of Newpark Care Centre. Beloved husband and best friend of Evelyn (nee Eades), much-loved father of Djinn, Shane and Ruth. Eamonn will be forever loved and sadly missed by his wife, his son and daughters and their partners, his adored grandchildren, and his relatives and friends. Reposing at his residence this Wednesday evening from 5 o’c to 7 o’c. Removal on Thursday morning to the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, for Service at 10 o’c followed by Cremation. GALLAGHER Eamonn (Ballyroan, Dublin) who died on August 11, 2019, aged eighty-six years. On Eamonn's First Anniversary, his wife Evelyn (Eades) and his children Jean (Djinn), Shane and Ruth wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised with us at the time of our loss. We are very grateful to those who visited the family home and attended the funeral service at Mount Jerome and who sent flowers, cards, letters and messages of sympathy. We appreciate the kindness and support shown to us over the past year. We extend a very special thank you to the staff at Newpark Care Home where Eamonn spent the last two years of his life. The management, nurses and care staff at Newpark took care of Eamonn with dignity and compassion but also warmth and humour. We wish to express our appreciation to Massey Funeral Brothers and Mary Cunniffe in particular. Thank you to Humanist Celebrant Siobhán Walls and the Humanist Association of Ireland for providing a wonderful celebration of Eamonn's life. Special thanks to Andy Doyle for his thoughtful input. Sincere thanks to Jean and Gerry McGovern and others around Ballyroan for their support as wonderful and caring neighbours. Thank you to Eamonn's former colleagues at University College Dublin and all parts of Eamonn's academic life who offered their sympathies. Eamonn is very much missed and remembered every day by his wife Evelyn, his children Jean (Djinn), Shane and Ruth and their partners Richard, Margaret and Conor, his grandchildren Hazel, Robbie and Ivan, and all of his friends. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our appreciation.
