WOODS, Audrey (MSoc.Sc) (née Jones) (Rathfarnham, Dublin) December 16, 2021. Peacefully, under the wonderful and exceptional care of Our Lady’s Manor, Dalkey and in the presence of her family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank. Audrey will be sadly and greatly missed by her daughters Marguerite and Valerie, her son John, grandchildren Fauve and Francesca, sons-in-law Ray and David, niece, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her brother Noel. Due to the current covid pandemic, a private family funeral for Audrey has taken place, which was followed by her interment in Kilmashogue Cemetery.
WOODS - Audrey - As we lovingly remember Audrey this Christmas and on the First Anniversary of her death on the December 16, 2021, her daughters Marguerite and Valerie, her son John, her granddaughters, Fauve and Francesca (Frankie), and sons-in-law Ray and David would like to sincerely thank all who sympathised with us. We are grateful to those who could join us in person and online for the beautiful and very personal funeral Mass conducted by Fr Martin Cosgrove at the Church of Annunciation, Rathfarnham. We pay special thanks to Barbara Gibson, for her wonderful rendition of hymns and carols that Mum loved, and were uplifting for our family. The love and support shown through cards, Masses offered, flowers, calls and the continued support from so many friends throughout this very difficult year are deeply appreciated by us all. We have so much to be thankful for: her supportive and kind carers from Home Instead for assisting Mum to maintain her independence at home for two years and the truly wonderful community of Our Lady’s Manor, Dalkey, that welcomed and cared for Mum for her final 22 months. We are forever in your debt, Sr Bernadette Murphy, Dr Mary Crowe, the medical team and all the ever present nursing and care staff, for the gentle, loving and exceptional care and kindness you gave our beloved Mum.
We remember our Mum and Grandma every day and miss her deeply. We also think today of her husband, Frank, our wonderful Dad and Granpa, who predeceased her on February 2nd, 2009. Holy Mass will be offered for your intentions.
