AIKEN, (née Lyons) - 18 March 2024 in the care of Beneavin Nursing Home, Glasnevin, Joan passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a lengthy battle with illness. Predeceased by brother Tony and brother-in-law Dick. Will be greatly missed by her husband Loclann, children Sinead, Loclann, Darragh, David, Robert, her daughter-in-law Irène and favourite grandson Tommy, her loving siblings Jackie, Avril, Sammy and their families, her wide circle of friends and her haven Delganey GC. Reposing at the Fanagan Funeral Home, Dundrum on Thursday (21st March) from 3pm until 5pm. Requiem Mass on Friday morning (22nd March) at 11 o’clock in Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook. No flowers, please. Donations can be given to Alzheimer Society of Ireland. May Joan rest in peace.

Sincere sympathies to Lochlann and your family. I met you and Joan when she and my mum became Beneavin neighbours at the same time. I’ve thought of her many times since. Such an elegant gentle soul. At dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílís.
