KEATING - Vincent (January 26, 2023) Breeda (May 1, 2023) (Athlone, Co. Westmeath) - The family of the late Vincent and Breeda Keating (nee Scully) wish to express our sincere thanks to everyone who offered sympathy and support following their recent deaths. Thank you to all who visited our home, attended the reposing, funeral Masses and burials, and sent sympathy cards, Mass cards, letters and floral tributes. Thank you also to those who travelled long distances to be with us and those who shared kind messages and happy memories on rip.ie. We would also like to acknowledge those who were unable to attend but who joined us via webcam.
A very special word of gratitude to Fr. Padraig Kelliher for his celebration of the funeral Masses; we are very grateful for his support, guidance and presence with us during those difficult days. Our sincere thanks also to the concelebrating clergy, Bishop Paul Connell, Monsignor John Roche,
Fr. John Garvey, Fr. Ray Milton and Fr. Brendan Payne. We are also grateful to the other clergy who offered prayers in the funeral home, who attended the funeral and who visited our home.
Vincent and Breeda had a great love of music and we are very grateful to Martin Cahill, Laura Cahill, Niamh Murray,
Sr. Anne Flanagan and the grandchildren whose beautiful music enhanced the funeral Masses.
Sincere thanks to the emergency services who assisted us with great empathy and compassion on Vincent’s passing, and to the Staff of Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon, for the outstanding care and love given to Breeda during her long illness.
We are deeply grateful to Séamus and Niall Flynn and their team at Flynn’s Undertakers, Athlone who supported and guided us with kindness and professionalism and helped us in so many ways. Our deep gratitude also to
to Fr. Séamus Mulvany for his presence at the burials, to the grave diggers, the sacristans in the churches, and to the members of Athlone G.A.A Club and the pupils and staff of Tubberclair N.S. for their guards of honour. Thanks also to the Staff of the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Wineport Lodge and A Slice of Life Catering for their hospitality and assistance.
We would also like to acknowledge the generosity, support and kindness of our extended families, neighbours, work colleagues and friends.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our deep and sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
