RIGNEY, (née Ryan) Kathleen (of Naas Road, Dublin 12). March 28, 2021. Mother, educator, lover of the written word and wife of the late Jim Rigney, she died peacefully at home in her hundredth year, in the loving care of her daughter. Formerly of the Department of External Affairs and teacher of English at Muckross Park College, former secretary of Dublin South Branch ASTI, and chair of the Association of Teachers of English. Kathleen will be deeply missed and remembered with love by her children Peter, Brendan and Catherine, daughters-in-law Mary Rigney and Mary Lyons, her beloved grandchildren Lucy and Adam, sister-in-law Ber, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Thanks to the wonderful carers of Dublin West Homecare for their devoted and loving care and attention over many years. In accordance with government guidelines a private funeral will take place, but may be viewed online tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11.30am at https://www.bluebellparish.com.
