FLYNN Dr. Michael J. (Mick) (Dun Laoghaire) (1942-2008) - Today marks the First Anniversary of Mick's death after a short illness, which he accepted with great courage and dignity under the care of the wonderful nurses and staff in the Cara Unit of St. Vincent's Private Hospital. His family Tess, children Michael, Judy, James and Stephen, daughter-in-law Rachel, grandson Jack, sisters Timmie, Mary and Ann, brother Stephen, sister-in-law Marion, brother-in-law Brian and all the extended family would like to thank all those who cared for Mick during his illness in hospital and the Hospice Home Care Team. Our thanks to colleagues, staff and friends at Johnstown Medical Centre, Trinity GP Training Scheme, The Irish Colleague of General Practitioners and the Royal St. George Yacht Club for all their help and support during his illness. We received a huge number of wonderful letters, Mass Cards and Novenas, from Mick's patients, colleagues and friends, which were a great source of comfort to us. It was also a fitting tribute to Mick's life as a GP. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who made donations to the Hospice Home Care Team who worked tirelessly to ease the suffering of the patients in the community. A special thanks to Fr. Martin Clarke and concelebrants for their moving funeral Mass and their spiritual support. We also like to thank Carnegie's Funeral Home for the caring and professional manner in which they managed the funeral arrangements. We hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. The Anniversary Mass will be held in St. Patrick's Church, Monkstown, at 6 pm tomorrow (Saturday) August 29.
