CURRAN, Aongus J., Professor of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology - Head and Neck Surgery UCD, St. Vincent's and The Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospitals, (Westminster Road, Foxrock and formerly of 'Owenriff', Oughterard, Co. Galway) - August 12, 2016, aged 51 years, following a boating accident on Lough Corrib. Darling husband of Noreen (née Dowd) and adored father of Tom, Aoife, Matthew, Mary, and Aongus Óg. Loving son of M.P.J (Bobby) and Phil. Wonderful brother of Fiona, Ruth, Niamh, and Eoin. Much loved son-in-law of Laurance and Maura Dowd, Tibohine, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon; deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers-in-law John Grealish, Darren Cunningham, Aidan, Cathal, and Lorcan Dowd, sisters-in-law Mary Morgan, Barbara Dowd and Olivia Horkan, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family colleagues and many friends. R.I.P. Reposing at Walsh's Funeral Home, Oughterard, Co. Galway today (Tuesday) from 4-7 pm. Removal at 7pm to Oughterard Church. Requiem Mass on Thursday, August 18 at 11am in The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock, followed by cremation at Mount Jerome, Harold's Cross at 1.30pm. Family flowers only, donations in lieu (if desired) to Corrib Mask Search and Rescue, John Gibbons Glengowla, Oughterard, Co. Galway."Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal"

My daughter, studying at RCSI, had a consultation with Dr. Curran. She phoned me to say how kind and friendly he was, as well as very thorough and professional​. We will offer the Rosary for your family. God be with you at this sad time.
