Farewell Aibhne

Tiarnán,

Heard about Aibhne today through the swimmer's grapevine and just wanted to drop you a line to offer my condolences. My abiding memory of Aibhne will always be heading out with you two and a few others for my first ever drink after Nationals in Dublin one year. I had two or three and planned to ease up, he agreed and I switched to light beer, only finding out later that he'd been buying me normal stuff the whole time. Having done the damage he was then kind enough to drag me back to crash in your parents' place as I was in no fit state to go home! They were fun and carefree times.

Although I haven't seen him in a long time, hearing news like this is never easy and I can't imagine what you must be going through. My thoughts are with you, and the rest of the family.

RIP Aibhne.

Donncha
