McCARTHY Prof Matthew F., (Circular Road, Galway and late of Blarney Street, Cork) - On the occasion of Matt's First Anniversary his beloved wife Celia and children Maeve, Brian, Roisin and Brendan along with their extended families wish to express their sincere thanks to all who expressed sympathy and support during their very difficult time. Thanks to all those who attended the funeral, particularly those who travelled distances, called to the house, sent Mass cards and letters of sympathy. Thanks in particular to his former colleagues from NUI Galway, whose large attendance was greatly appreciated. Thanks to the care and support given by all the staff of the Bon Secours Hospital and the University Hospital Galway and in particular the nursing staff of the ICU in UHG. Special thanks to Fr Gerry Jennings and all the priests who concelebrated the funeral mass, hospital Chaplin's Fr Paul Tonna SJ and Fr David Murphy, singer Frank Naughton, O'Flaherty Funeral Directors and the gravediggers for their expertise and help.
