Condolences from Michael Rooney

So saddened to learn of Joy Faulkner's passing, a great loss. I had lost touch with the Faulkners after returning to the States in 1974 but I did visit with Dermot & Joy in 1985 when on my honeymoon to Ireland. Dermot gave me my first lob out of school, a great experience for which I am grateful. I enjoyed my time there working for him and with his sons. I was best friends with her late son Roger, we were classmates at Christian Brothers College in Monkstown. Another loss I learned of only recently. Poor Gilly, too; very sad. Joy always had a smile for me, always made me feel welcome. The world is less for their passing, I'll miss them all.

Joy Faulkner
It is with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Joy a lovely lady who was married to my cousin. I last saw Joy when I was visiting Our Lady's Manor in Dalkey and as always I came away feeling good.Joy was a delight to meet and made my day at a family gathering in Rathmichael in 2002 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of my late father's birth when after telling me what a lovely man my father was she kindly told me that I was very like him. My deepest sympathy go to all the family and especially to Buddy whom I met just once walking along the seafront with his mother over 60 years ago. David Maguire.

Great Sadness

It was with great sadness I read of the passing of Joy Faulkner, my late mons' best friend, (Dorothy mc Donald). Joy as I remember was such a beautiful, gentle woman, with a great spirit. Joy was an extension of my Mom. Mother adored Joy and was forever in awe of her. I totally understood that, whenever I was in Joys company. May She rest in Peace. Another star has gone out in the sky tonight, with the passing of Joy Faulkner. My deepest sympathy extended to her grieving family.(I never met you, but, felt I knew you forever). As my Mom once said to Joy, the waiting is over now Joy. RIP
