MACGOWAN - Prof. William (Cabinteely, Dublin 18 and of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland) October 14, 2025. (Peacefully) in his 101st year, at the Altadore Nursing Home, Glenageary. Beloved husband of the late Joan and loving father of Nicholas, Guy, Amanda and the late Simon. He will be very sadly missed by his brother Maurice, daughters-in-law Jill and Sandra, son-in-law Charles, grandchildren Jay, Taylor, Elizabeth, Andrew, Hugo, Rebecca and Rachel, nieces, nephews, as well as by his extended family, friends and former colleagues. The MacGowan family wish to extend their gratitude to Dr. Geraint Warlow and the wonderful staff at the Altadore for their kindness and care. Funeral and house private. Professor William will be sadly missed by his family, friends and previous colleagues to whom he was an inspiring friend. His work for the Royal College was incredible and will never be forgotten. Vincent and Phil Keaveny.
