HARMEY, (Celbridge, Co. Kildare, formerly of Crumlin, Dublin 12 and St. Vincent’s College, Castleknock, Dublin) - May 31st, 2020 (very peacefully) at home. Paul, anam cara and beloved husband for 54 years of Nuala, greatly loved Dad of Dympna and Sinead and father-in-law of Paul Kenny and Chris Murphy. Very proud grandfather of Conor, Ronan and Mimi. Paul will be forever loved and missed by them. Sadly missed also by his brothers Matt and Paddy, sister Hester, extended family, former colleagues, neighbours and a very wide circle of incredibly supportive friends. R.I.P. Due to Government advice and restrictions regarding public gatherings and to protect our most vulnerable friends, a private family funeral will take place. We look forward to meeting everyone at a Celebration of Paul’s kind and wonderful life at a later date. People who would like to pay their respects to Paul may do so on Wednesday morning June 3rd at 11:30 am as Paul makes his way to the Church from his home via the Hazelhatch Road. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Friend’s of St. Brigid’s Hospice and Homecare Services, The Curragh, Co. Kildare. Beir Bua

HARMEY - Paul (Second Anniversary, May 31) - Paul you are lovingly remembered today and every day by Nuala, Dympna, Sinead, Paul, Chris, Conor, Ronan and Mimi.

HARMEY - Paul (Celbridge) May 31, 2020 - Remembering Paul Harmey on his First Anniversary. Paul was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, Grandad, brother brother-in-law and friend. He was happiest at the side of his lady love, Nuala, following Leinster Rugby around Europe, travelling the world to see his family and in the company of good friends. An avid golfer, he was a member of Hermitage Golf Club and we are grateful to his wonderful friends who have, over the past year, kept in touch with us and paid such a remarkable tribute to him on the day of his funeral by providing him with a Guard of Honour on his last journey. One of his greatest joys in his retirement was organising the Junior Golfers in Hermitage. Paul taught Biology at Castleknock College for most of his career. In the many letters we have received from past pupils we have learned of the big influence he had on his pupils’ lives and careers and their affection for his wicked sense of humour and his humility. Paul taught us that you can show love through acts of service. Throughout his life he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Care to Drive, the St Vincent de Paul Society and St. Brigid’s Hospice. We are grateful for the support of the Kildare/West Wicklow Community Palliative Care team and our GP Dr. Vincent Walsh during his illness. Thank you to everyone who, despite the restrictions of the pandemic, have reached out in so many ways to support and care for Nuala, Dympna and Sinead. Thanks also to those who made donations to St. Brigid’s Hospice. We want to acknowledge the understanding shown of the restrictions placed on our home and the funeral by the pandemic. We would have so wished to share the celebration of a life well lived with all our friends. It has been hard to be separated during the past year from family in the UK, Canada and the USA, but together with our friends in Ireland you all found the most innovative ways to show your concern and we are so grateful to you. Paul you are missed every day and will be loved for ever. We were blessed to share our lives with such a kind and gentle man. Nuala, Dympna, Sinead, Paul, Chris, Conor, Ronan, Mimi.
