Lovely memories of a dear friend in La Herradura

Have only just found out about Mavis dying, though we obviously knew something must have happened as we couldn't get in contact. We spend the winters here, and a big plus was meeting up with Mavis. I first met her in my Spanish class, many years ago, and though we didn't learn much of the Language, we certainly had a lot of fun. Subsuquent times together were always full of laughter, but also interesting discussions and shared times at concerts etc. She appreciated everything and everybody, she loved life and her family. We too will miss sundowners on her lovely terrace, but mainly we will miss a wonderful and inspiring person. La Herradura won't be the same without Mavis. A real privilege to have known her. Mavis, we salute you, and will carry you in our hearts always.

Karin and Bruno Lappa

Sorely missed in La Herradura
As a family we met Mavis over 10 years ago in La Herradura, Granada, Spain. We golfed, dined and socialised together. She was always very interested in everything that went on and game to do anything new. Age never stopped her from walking everywhere and enjoying herself. I know we will miss her terribly here and her famous sundowners on her magnificent terrace which she loved so much. Thank you Mavis for your wonderful company over the last few years and we will miss you sorely.

Wednesday Ladies Golf Society
So sad to hear of Mavis's death. Fond memories of her time as Lady Captain of our Wednesday Ladies Golfing Society in Leopardstown. She was a very popular Captain - friendly and fun to be with. Deepest sympathy to you all Patricia Greene
