GIBNEY - Dr. Carl (Kells, Co. Meath) (Second Anniversary).

A much loved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, Carl is always in our thoughts and missed every day by Marie, Ronan, Dearbhla, Carl, Melissa, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and his nine grandchildren.

GIBNEY Carl (Bective Street, Kells) Died February 4, 2019. Marie, Ronan, Dearbhla, Carl and Melissa wish to thank everyone for the kindness, sympathy, support and love which we have experienced since the death of our beloved Carl. We have been overwhelmed by the number of people whose lives Carl touched, both professionally and privately, and who shared stories with us of his kindness and generosity, always including the phrase 'He was a true gentleman.' Letters, Mass Cards and visits have brought great comfort to us all. Friends and aquaintances travelled from all over the country and from abroad to share our sadness during his wake and funeral Mass, concelebrated by Fr. John Byrne, Fr. Peter Farrelly and Fr. Andy Doyle, to whom we are truly grateful. Carl spent the last five months of his life in the Butterstream Unit in St. Joseph's Nursing Unit, Trim, and words are insufficient to describe the attention and care he, and we, received there, where he loved and was loved by all. Due to the spiritual ethos of the staff of St. Joseph's we had the privilege of accompanying Carl as he walked into the valley of the shadow of death, feeling the comfort of the Lord on his final journey. We will never forget their sensitivity and support in his final hours. Gibneys of Oldcastle, the family undertakers, handled Carl's funeral with wonderful professionalism and dignity. The priests and parishioners of Kells Parish have proved to us that the love of God is present in the community and we thank everyone who has been so supportive in the past year. It would be impossible to thank you all individually so please accept our thanks through this acknowledgement. Mass has been offered for your intentions. Carl's First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated tomorrow Sunday, February 2, at 11.30am.
