HORNE - Patricia (Dr. Pat) October 29, 2021. On this the First Anniversary of Patricia’s death, I, Margaret her twin, would have liked to personally thank everyone individually who sent Mass cards and such warm-hearted messages of sympathy, but the numbers were so great it would have been impossible. Therefore, to all our family, friends at home and worldwide, our incredible neighbours as well as religious communities, professional, charitable and sporting organisations a sincere thank-you. You have no idea how much your support and friendship has meant to me over the past year. To all who escorted Tricia to the church and attended her Requiem Mass in person and online, particularly Francis Meighan who kept early morning vigil with her. A special thank you to Fr. Paul Taylor who enabled me to have Tricia’s funeral Mass on All Saints Day, to Canon John Killeen Chief Celebrant for a memorable ceremony, Fr. Vincent O’Hara O.C.D. for his moving homily and Fr. John Guiney S.J. (Jesuits International) for remembering Tricia’s work in Africa. To Jim Rourke who oversaw her funeral arrangements and to Jody Fanagan (Fanagans Funeral Directors) and his team for their quiet courtesy and discreet services. To all at Miltown Golf Club who looked after us so well later. To everyone at The Ashbury Nursing Home who gave Tricia such professional and loving attention and to all who visited her, no words can express my appreciation.

To Bishop Joseph Duffy, Bishop Emeritus of Clogher for his constant prayers for Tricia and me. Former colleagues, patients, and friends in Monaghan/Cavan and especially Dr. John Owens former R.M.S. St Davnets Hospital who also attended her funeral, I was very touched by your remembrances. To Fr. Liam Finnerty O.C.D. Prior and community Avila Retreat, Sr. Teresa O.C.D. and Sisters in Roebuck Carmel and Sr. Mary O’Brien and Holy Rosary Sisters everywhere, Thank you for all your prayers, support and kindness. To Mary Killeen and Joy O’Dwyer and her son Pat, your loving concern and generosity has known no bounds. To Clodagh Finn who honoured Tricia by her extensive article in The Irish Examiner and the author of the unsigned Obituary in The Irish Times you made me very proud. Thank you. To all who shared in my loss, please accept these expressions of my heartfelt appreciation.

Holy Mass was offered in Avila for your intentions.
