MALONE - Claude -Â
Claude's wife Orla (O'Hanrahan), his children Kate and Matthew and the Malone family wish to express our thanks to all who supported us before and after Claude's death on 20 July and at his Funeral Mass at the Oblate Church of Mary Immaculate Inchicore, including Fr. Martin Moran OMI and Fr. Tom McCabe OMI. We thank in particular Monsignor Ciarán O'Carroll who celebrated the Mass and helped us so much at that time, as well as all who concelebrated. We thank also the artists who took part, including Cantairà Ãga Ãtha Cliath, who all brought us great comfort. We appreciated very much the presence of President Michael D. Higgins and Sabina Higgins, as well as the ADC to An Taoiseach. Thanks to our wider family, especially Chris Cawley, along with so many good friends and colleagues. Claude faced many health challenges with great courage, having been so committed himself to helping the less fortunate throughout his life, such as his time as Director of the London Irish Centre in Camden and the Barrett Cheshire Home in Dublin. As a wonderful husband and father, it was our privilege to care for Claude at home over the past five years, with the vital support of some exceptional carers, led by Marija Mailene. We are so grateful to many doctors and medical staff at home and abroad, including Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Ud Din at the Hermitage Clinic, Dr. Peter Staunton, and Dr. Nicola Gilliland at Sutton Cross Surgery.
We wish a peaceful Christmas to everyone who knew Claude. Mass will be said for all your intentions.
