EGAN, John (Hollybrook Road, Clontarf, Dublin, originally Ballybrehony, Claremorris, Co. Mayo) – May 1, 2023 (peacefully) in wonderful care of The Mater Hospital. Beloved husband of Geraldine, dearest father of James and Seán. Sadly missed by his family, daughters-in-law Katie and Michelle, grandson Ruarí, sisters Bernadette, Nuala, Josephine, Catherine and Ita, brothers Dan, Fr. Pat, Martin and Gerard, extended family, friends and neighbours. Pre-deceased by his sisters Mary, Peg and Philomena and brother Seamus. Reposing at the Kirwan Funeral Home, Fairview Strand today (Wednesday) from 5.00pm until 7.00pm. A celebration of John’s life will take place tomorrow (Thursday) in Glasnevin Cemetery Chapel at 10.00am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, to the Mater Foundation. Rest in Peace.

Mayo) - On the first anniversary of his death, John’s wife Geraldine, sons James and Sean, daughters in law Michelle and Katie, grandson Ruairí, sisters Bernadette, Nuala, Josephine, Catherine and Ita, brothers Dan, Fr. Pat, Martin and Gerard and extended family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the support shown by our families, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Your acts of kindness over the course of John’s illness and your continued support since his death have meant the world to us. We would like to thank in particular the staff of Kirwan’s funeral home, whose professionalism and guidance was invaluable to us. John will not easily be forgotten by anyone who met him, he is sorely missed by his family and friends.
