CONNOLLY, Dr. Peter, (retired CEO, Louth VEC), (Seaford Gardens, Blackrock, Dundalk), (peacefully) in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, June 26, 2017. Peter, beloved husband of Peggy (née Bourton) and dear father of Garfield, Joanne, John, Roseanne and David, and big brother to Harry, Bernadine and the late Dr. Noel Connolly. Enchanted by his grandchildren Poppy, James, Feilim, Rory, Sophie, Seth and Reuben. Forever loved by his wife, sons, daughters, sister and brother, grandchildren, son-in-law Rob, and daughters-in-law Shane and Ellie, and David's partner Emer, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May He Rest in Peace. Reposing at his home from 11am tomorrow (Wednesday), with removal at 6.30pm to St. Oliver Plunkett Church Blackrock, arriving for evening prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am, followed by private Cremation. Family flowers only. Donations to OperationSmile.ie.
CONNOLLY, Dr. Peter (Blackrock, Co. Louth) passed away on Monday June 26, 2017. His wife Peggy and children Garfield, Joanne, John, Roseanne, and David, with extended family wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with and supported them in the last year. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to those who travelled long distances (some despite their own illnesses), who sent letters or cards of condolences and to those who called on the family home to pay their respects. Childhood friends, work colleagues and friends shared favourite memories and turned a sad occasion into a celebration of life and are greatly appreciated. Their continued thanks to the neighbours who were and are the very definition of a caring community. Particular thanks to his medical team of many years: Dr. John Whately and team, at the Mater, Professor Sugrue and his team, Dr. Crowe and at the end the palliative care team and wonderful staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. Thank you to Fr. Brian White for his pastoral care in Peter's last days and to McGeough's undertakers with Rosemary for her friendship and sensitive care. They are eternally grateful for the warmth and support of his beloved sister Bernadine and to those who paid their respects on the recent passing of his brother Harry. An anniversary Mass will be held at 6.30pm on Saturday, June 23, at St. Oliver Plunkett's Church, Blackrock, Co. Louth.Go gcoinne Dia thu Peadar.
