I have just now belatedly learned of the passing of Ormonde, having lost touch with him when I moved back to England in 2007. Ormonde was a true gentleman, in the full meaning of the word, and was kind and encouraging to me in my efforts to learn the Uilleann pipes 20 or so years ago. I would like to pass on my condolences, again belated, to his nearest and dearest, and assure them he lives on fondly in my memory.
