DOWNEY (Rochestown, Cork and late of Mashanaglass, Macroom) - June 7, 2017, (peacefully), at Marymount University Hospital and Hospice James (Jimmy), (former Secretary General of the Department of Social Welfare), son of the late Stephen and Mary Downey and dear brother of Eddie, Ted, John, Maura, Kay and the late Sheila and Ann; sadly missed by his loving family, sister-in-law Nora, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephew, great-grandniece, extended family, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace. Reception prayers tomorrow (Saturday) at 10.45am followed by 11.00am Requiem Mass in the Church of St. Mary and St. John Ballincollig, Co. Cork. Cremation afterwards at the Island Crematorium Ringaskiddy.
