BREEN, Gerard (Gerry) Portmarnock, Co. Dublin - April 2, 2015 (peacefully) after a long illness borne with great dignity in the wonderful care of the staff in the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Cappagh. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Phil (née Curran), sons Cormac and Garrett, daughter-in-law Eileen, sister Peggy, grandchildren David, Meabh and Sebastian, sisters-in-law Nuala and Marie, brothers-in-law Paschal and Paddy, nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. Rest in Peace. Reposing on Easter Monday afternoon, April 6 in Stafford`s Funeral Home, Strand Road, Portmarnock from 5 o`clock until 7 o`clock. Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Anne`s Church, Portmarnock arriving for 10 o`clock Funeral Mass followed immediately thereafter by burial in St. Fintan`s Cemetery Sutton. BREEN Gerard (Gerry) Portmarnock Co, Dublin - On the first anniversary of Gerry's death (April 2, 2015) Phil and sons Cormac and Garrett would like to express their grateful appreciation and sincere thanks to all who sympathised with and supported them during Gerry's illness and death. A sincere thank you to our family, dear friends, neighbours and colleagues who attended Gerry's funeral, sent Mass Cards or letters of sympathy and called to the house. A special thank you to Father Noel Hession OSA and Father Gary Darby Parish Priest St. Anne's Portmarnock, for making the funeral Mass especially personal and to St. Anne's requiem choir. Our sincere gratitude to Professor Dermot Power and Dr. Siobhan Foreman of St. Anthony's Ward Cappagh Hospital for their care and kindness to Gerry during his final few months and to the nursing staff, carers and kitchen staff for their unbelievable thoughtfulness. Thanks also to Mr. Kevin Cronin of the Mater Private Hospital and the staff of Beaumont Hospital for their care after Gerry's fall. We hope this acknowledgement adequately expresses how much we appreciate your presence, your kindness and your continuing support. May he rest in peace.
