A Champion of Chemistry

I visited Rory twice over recent years giving RSC lectures to school children. I was delighted to meet this person who for a long time I had thought was two – Dr More and Dr O’Ferrall – from the incorrectly written More, O’Ferrall, Jencks plots. To be honest when I met him I realised that he actually had the energy of two, even in retirement. I was very impressed by his joyful enthusiasm for chemistry and his commitment to promoting chemistry to young people. A fantastic chap and a sad loss.
