Ó CINNÉIDE Séamus (Rathmines, Dublin, formerly of Glenties, Co. Donegal), Professor Emeritus of Maynooth University. Peacefully at home, November 13, 2019. Beloved husband of Moira Higgins and adored father of Bríd, Áine and Caitlín. Loving brother of Patrick, Mary A, Berny and Anthony, and grandfather of Francis James, Norah-Mae, Dubhthach and Louis. Sadly missed by his family, relatives, neighbours, former colleagues and many friends. Wake at home today (Thursday), from 3 p.m. Funeral Mass at the Church of Mary Immaculate, Refuge of Sinners, Rathmines tomorrow (Friday) at 11.30, followed by burial in Glenties, Co. Donegal, on Saturday, (November 16). Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Ó CINNÉIDE - Séamus (Sixth Anniversary) Sadly missed and remembered with great affection by his adoring daughters, Bríd, Áine and Caitlín, and his wide circle of family and friends who are are also mourning the loss of his beloved wife, Moira Higgins, who died in March 2025.

Seamus was an inspiration to me at several points of transition in my career in social work and social policy. I found him an enthralling, engaging, amusing and very insightful thinker, with a warm personality. Very sad news. Charlie Delap
