To an Irish generation in London of the 1980s, Cathal was the zeitgeist poet. A talisman of the unreported soul. Any new work was awaited eagerly as one would from Heaney or Beckett. He was a true and honest artist. Though the clock has now descended, he has left us an incredible legacy so that we may remain, "unbroken ones".
