McKEATING, Fr. Colm (Columban Fathers), late of Monagh Parade, Belfast and The Phillipines - March 21, 2015, in the loving care of the staff at St. Columban's Nursing Home, Dalgan Park, Navan. Very deeply regretted by his sister Maura McConnell (Portstewart, Co. Derry), brother Dermot (Bristol), brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Judy, nieces Grainne, Elaine and husband Brendan, grandnephews, Columban Confreres and his many friends especially in The Phillipines. Reposing at St. Columban's, Dalgan Park, Navan. Office and Prayers for the Dead this evening (Monday) at 7 o'clock. Concelebrated Requiem Mass tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at 11 o'clock, followed by burial in the Community Cemetery.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal

Just seen that Fr Colm has died. Very sorry to hear this. Followed some of his career in the 'Far East'. Class mate from St.Mary's CBS. May he rest in peace.

<p>Thank you for everything</p> <p>When I was under him in Eschatology class, I guess he saw me as one who do not belong among the mainstream theology students. So he was extra nice to me and went out of his way to explain things further for me. When crossed each other at the Maryhill School of Theology's Office, I informed him that my thesis was about the Trinity and the Family. Unlike others who were surprised about my thesis topic, he was quite amused. He gave me two books to research on. One was Lonergan's, which made the difference in my thesis. The other book, I forgot because I misplaced the piece of paper he wrote it on to. He told me if I do not find this second book, I can got to him and borrow it from him. But I never got the chance because, I learned he was on sabbatical leave and was sick. I waited for his return only to know this late of his demise. Thank you Fr. Colm. You are fond of saying "Now and the not yet" in class. Now, you are in the joyful presence of our ultimate destiny. Now you are in your eschaton.</p> <p>Chito Licuanan</p> <p>Maryhill student</p>

<p>A great teacher of theology</p> he is one of my best teacher in theology. His influence will last in my ministry. Thank you very much fr. Mckeating. You are one and only. Thank you Lord for giving us fr. Colm! You once said that if there is heaven out there, you will say hi for us to Jesus. If heaven is here on earth when Jesus comes, then you are in what you call intermediate stage. Then you wait for us... Thank you fr.
