COGLEY, Fred, (Terenure, Dublin), June 14, 2017, (peacefully) at St. James's Hospital, surrounded by his family; treasured husband and best friend of Madeleine, beloved and loving Dad and friend to David, Niall, Michelle and Denise, adored Papa of Clodagh, Daragh, Katie, Róisín, Elaine, Eva and Jena. Deeply regretted by his brothers-in-law Cyril and Harry, sisters-in-law Joan, Eithne and Lil, daughters-in-law Gabrielle and Janet, son-in-law Rob, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Removal tomorrow (Saturday) morning to St. Joseph's Church, Terenure to arrive for Funeral Mass at 12.00 o'c noon and then to Kilmashogue Cemetery, Edmondstown Road, Rathfarnham. Family flowers only. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Peter McVerry Trust. "Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis".

COGLEY, Fred (June 14, 2017) - On the First Anniversary of his death, Madeleine, Dave, Niall, Michelle and Denise, together with Fred's beloved grandchildren and extended family, would like to express sincere thanks to all who sympathised at the sad time of his death. Thanks to everyone who came to the funeral Mass, especially those who travelled long distances and to those who sent very comforting letters and messages of sympathy. To all of our life-long friends who were so supportive at the time and since; to Lieutenant Colonel Patricia Burke who kindly represented President Higgins at the funeral; to his many long-standing friends and colleagues in RTE and in the sports teams, federations, associations, unions, clubs, societies and in the broadcast and print media; to all those who helped make his funeral service so special, especially the wonderful musicians John McNally, Gerard Gillen and Sharon Lyons; to Fr. Dermod McCarthy, Fr. Tom Dooley, Fr. David Weakliam, Fr. Vincent O'Grady, Fr. John Flavin and Fred's childhood friend Fr. Pat Fitzpatrick who travelled from Toronto to act as chief celebrant; to Fred's fellow Past Presidents of the St. Marys College PPU who formed a generous guard of honour; to the wonderful staff at St James's Hospital; to his many golfing pals in Grange GC, RTEGS, DJ GS, PR&TV GS and elsewhere; to David, Jody and all the team at Fanagans Funeral Directors for their kindness and professionalism; to the extended families and friends especially the Whites, Lennons, Gregans, Dempseys and the Mowlds and so many other families and friends whose support will never be forgotten. Sincere thanks to you all from us all.May his gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
