SOUTER MORRIS, Camille (Dooagh, Achill Island) Painter and Saoi of Aosdana, LLD (Trinity and UCD), 3 March 2023, in her 94th year, peacefully at Natasha’s residence in Dublin, surrounded by her family. Predeceased in 1970 by her great love, sculptor Frank Morris, and in 2016 by her adored son-in-law Peter Johnson. Unconventional mother of Natasha, Michele, Gino, Emma and Tim, grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of eight. Camille will be remembered for her paintings, for her individual take on life, and her love of frogs, broad beans and tulips. We greatly appreciate the care Camille has received from her doctors in Achill and Dublin, the staff in MUH, and the palliative home care team of the Harold’s Cross Hospice. Camille has donated her body to Trinity Medical School. Donations, if desired, to the RNLI Achill and the Hospice. Sustainability of the planet has been a huge passion of Camille’s since the 1960’s, so we suggest, whoever can, in her memory, plant something and let the grass grow.
