DUNNE McCARTHY - Veronica - We, the son Peter and daughter Judy, together with Richard, son-in-law, Sandra, daughter-in-law and grandsons Kevin and Aidan Gaughan, wish to express our sincere gratitude to the many people who sent cards, texts, emails, letters and left messages of condolence online when Veronica (Ronnie) died on April 5, 2021. Thank you to the neighbours, friends, colleagues and former students who lined the route of the cortege as it travelled through Dublin stopping to listen to beautiful music and singing performed at key locations. To the staff and students at the Royal Academy of Music, the choir at Dartmouth Square, the staff of the National Concert Hall, Committee Members of Friends of the Vocal Arts and the staff of the music department of the DIT. To Fr. Philip Bradley who made the requiem Mass so special, Celine Byrne and Tara Erraught with accompanist Dearbhla Collins who sang so beautifully during the service. To Ite O’Donovan and her Piccolo Lasso choir for their singing at the church. To Dr Claire McNicholas who cared for Ronnie for many years. To the staff of Fanagans Funeral Directors, we thank you for your professionalism and assistance and also David Fanagan for his personal organisation of the funeral. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Richard O’Connor and Catriona Pender who tended, cared for and minded Ronnie for so many years. In honour of Ronnie’s legacy, please consider donating to the Veronica Dunne scholarship fund for a graduate performing arts student at the Royal Irish Academy of Music 36-38 Westland Row, Dublin 2 attention of Deborah Kelleher. On Saturday April 23 at 6pm at St. Joseph's Church, Terenure a Faure Requiem Mass memorial will be performed by the Lassus Scholars' Choir, conductor Ite O'Donovan with soprano solist Celine Byrne.
