WALSHE, (Late of The English Department UCC, formerly of Waterford) - Died 27th July 2024. Pre-deceased by his father John. Eibhear will be sadly missed and forever loved by his mother Celine, brothers Eoin and Sheamus, sisters Ria and Oonagh, adored nieces Ciara, Frankie & Grace, nephews Patrick, Alex, Sean, Charlie, Donagh, Fiacra and grandniece Celine, brothers-in-law Mike & Sean, sisters-in-law Paula & Tracey, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends. May Eibhear Rest In Peace Requiem Mass on Friday August 2nd at 10.30am. in St. Joseph and Benildus’ Church Newtown, Waterford. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner. “Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. WALSHE - Eibhear (First Anniversary, July 27). On the First Anniversary of Eibhears passing, his mother Celine, brothers Eoin and Sheamus, and sisters Ria and Oonagh, together with their spouses, children, and grandchildren, wish to express our deep gratitude to all who sympathised with us following the sudden loss of our beloved Eibhear We extend our sincere thanks to Fr Liam Power and Denise Hughes of St Joseph & Benildus Church, Anne Hennessy and her team, the undertakers, and Glen Murphy, whose beautiful singing brought great comfort. Your care, kindness, and efforts ensured that Eibhears funeral was both personal and deeply moving. We are also profoundly grateful to Eibhears many friends and colleagues in the English Department at UCC and Cork community for their support and for sharing in our sorrow. The cards, letters, RIP.ie messages, poems written in his honour, and the many kind conversations throughout the past year have meant so much to us. We were especially touched by the students, past and present, who reached out with messages of condolence. The continued presence of Eibhears wide circle of friends, especially those from the Out & About hiking group and his long-standing Dublin friends, has been a great source of comfort. A Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.
We hold you close within our hearts
and there you shall remain.
