Always to be remembered and never to be forgotten. Still feeling the loss... We will miss you, our dearest Irish friend, who always made us feel welcome in your home in Melbourne. May you rest in peace. You were so much more than our friend, more like a mother and a grand mother to our children. We were very happy that we were able to visit you in the hospital and pray for you while we were there. Our deepest condolences to your dear sisters, nephews, nieces and extended family. You were larger than life and one of a kind. For those who would like to see Jean's Memorial service, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmsYIGcua4g

Vale Jean - rest in peace, reunited with Caroline. My Scottish friend adopted our Irish mate into our group many, many years ago in Melbourne & we all met regularly for meals at one another’s homes. Her students & my students at many & various sporting events & that was how I got to know her all those years ago. We shared mutual interests & Jean & I had numerous walks along with our dog on different beaches when she came to stay with us around New Year. She flew to England to attend my mum’s 100th birthday in 2014 as she had met mum so many times in Australia. My husband & Inwere able to visit her in hospital after her stroke & we feel blessed to have seen her before her death. We will miss her so much as she has been part of our lives for so long & she had a heart of gold, always helping or visiting people in need & going that extra mile to give more of herself to her very wise circle of friends. God bless you Jean. Xx
