MAHER, John G., September 7, 2023, Rathgar and formerly of Drumcondra, reluctantly, in the exceptional care of Our Lady’s Hospice Harold’s Cross. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Belinda, his brother Frank CM, and, recently, his sister Mary. Much loved by his spouse Betty FitzGerald, his sons and daughters, Barry, Clare, Johnny, Ruth and Billy, Barry’s partner Graeme, Johnny’s wife Audrey, and by his three grandchildren, Laurie, Anna and Sally. Deeply regretted also by his in-laws, Bob, Róisín and Brian, Joan and Trevor, and Jack and Jacqueline, his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and most kind neighbours. Funeral Mass will take place this (Monday) morning at 11am, in the Church of St Columbanus, St Gall and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Milltown, Dublin 6, followed by interment in Dean’s Grange Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Palliative Care Unit, Our Lady’s Hospice Harold’s Cross. House private please. May he enjoy “peace at the last” (John Henry Newman).
