BYRNE (Greystones and Carlow) - August 2, 2013 at Beechwood Nursing Home, Leighlinbridge. The Very Reverend Matthew Byrne, former Dean of Kildare, pre-deceased by his wife Weena, beloved husband and soul-mate of The Reverend Olivia Williams (The Rectory, Carlow). Deeply mourned by his wife, son Michael, daughter Graine, sisters Jo and Agnes, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, former parishioners in Manchester, Inchicore, Kildare, Greystones, pupils of The Kings Hospital School, former colleagues in the British and Irish Armies, BBC and RTÉ and a broad circle of friends. Funeral Service today, Monday at 2pm in St. Mary's Church, Carlow followed by private cremation. Sincere thanks to Eileen and staff at Beechwood Nursing Home for their care and kindness in Matthew's final months. Family flowers only. "The eternal God is thy refuge
