GILVARRY (Dr Joe, "Joko") (Villa Maria, Killala, Co. Mayo) - On his First Anniversary Joe is dearly missed by his wife Mary, son Joe, daughters Mary, Anne, Eilish, Emer, Joan and Ailbhe, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all for your sympathy and support during our sad loss. A very special thank you to Fr Paddy Hoban, Parish Priest of Killala who was so compassionate to Dr Joe during his short illness. Thanks also to the Bishop of Killala and the many priests who concelebrated his funeral Mass. We would especially like to thank Annie Knox and the staff of Killala Medical Centre for their care and kindness to Dr Joe. Our thanks also to the members of the Killala and Mayo GAA, the Killala Garda Síochána, his many medical colleagues and all those who endured the inclement weather to form the Guard of Honour at his removal. Killala and its people had a very special place in Dr. Joe's heart during his life and in particular his 52 years of medical practice. Thank you to his friends - the people of Killala - who were so good to Dr Joe, visited him at home and attended his funeral in their thousands. Our sincere thanks also to the very many people who travelled great distances to be with us at his funeral, to those who sent Mass Cards, letters, messages of sympathy and floral tributes. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
