O'DONNELL - Gerry, (Ballina, Co. Mayo) (Died July 25, 2023) - Remembering Gerry on his First
Anniversary, his wife Olive, children Olga, Olwyn, Roger and Rodney, son-in-law Angus, daughter-in-law Martha and grandchildren Conor, Poppy, Jack and Caimin, brother and sisters wish to thank most sincerely all who sympathised with us on our sudden loss. We thank all who attended Gerry's reposing at McGowan's Funeral Home, Requiem Mass and joined online. To all who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, messages online, donations to charities and flowers we thank you.
To his many friends at his beloved Ballina RFC and in particular Alan and those in the guard of honour and his close club friends who carried Gerry at Cathedral and to his resting place., his fellow members of the Perennials Rugby team, Connacht rugby and his many friends from the Rugby community Thank you. Thank you to our niece Sinead who sat with us, to Pauline and Helen in Dublin. and neighbour Nicola and friends who supported us in many ways.
We thank the ambulance staff who took Gerry to Castlebar University Hospital and the exceptional staff at ICU there and the surgical team. Thank you to Fr Shane Costello and the Ambulance team who got Gerry safely to St. Vincents Hospital ICU in Dublin and the excellent staff there also to Mr Donal Maguire.
A heartful thanks to Fr Kieran Holmes and all the Priests who concelebrated Mass. To our customers and staff thank you. To David McGowan who facilitated us with a special request made by Gerry years ago and to both David and Martina we thank you for your sensitive and professional assistance. Thank you to his friend J P. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for the intentions of all.
First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, July 28 at 11 am in St. Muredach's
Cathedral.
