O'CARROLL, Paddy March 21, 2015 - Máire, Anne, Niall, Clíona and his brothers George and Frank wish to thank kind friends, neighbours, relatives and colleagues who gave us such great support during Paddy's illness and at the time of and since his death. To those who travelled long distances in Ireland and from abroad to attend his funeral, the hundreds who sent messages of sympathy, called and telephoned, and those who donated in his memory to Marymount Hospice, our deepest appreciation. We thank Paddy's friends, former students and colleagues in the Department of Sociology, UCC, for their loyal support and friendship. To the jazz band musicians who made the sad occasion of Paddy's removal to the church a celebration, our admiration and thanks. We thank Fr. Cristóir MacDonald PP Curraheen and Fr. Dermod McCarthy who celebrated Paddy's Requiem Mass with Fr. Marius O'Reilly and Canon Ciarán Whitney. A special word of thanks to Ríonach Moran for her moving sean-nós singing and to neighbour Kay Dineen for creating a beautiful floral tribute. As it would be impossible to thank you all individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt gratitude.Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.
