O'DONOVAN, Donal (Maths Dept., Trinity College, also Ballsbridge, and formerly of Mount Merrion, Dublin) - November 9th, 2019. Peacefully at the Blackrock Clinic surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Joan, loving Dad of Caoimhe and Róisín and brother of the late Angela Glynn. He will be sadly missed by his family, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Rom Massey & Sons Funeral Home, Unit 6, Cranford Centre, Stillorgan Road, D04 X446, tomorrow (Wednesday) from 5-7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday afternoon at 12.40pm at St. Mary’s Church, Haddington Road, Dublin 4, followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium. “May he rest in peace”

Very saddened to read of Dr O'Donovan's death. He was an innovative teacher, often informally 'proving' theorems by generalising from simple examples. T. Kirby
