Always in my heart
I am heartbroken to have heard the news about my very dear friend's passing. She was my principal at St. Rosalie Elementary School in Harvey, LA for over 15 years and was a very close friend of my entire family. She taught me so much about teaching, but even more so, about life. She came to St. Rosalie School in 1976 and under her leadership, St. Rosalie became one of the most respected schools in the Diocese of New Orleans. There has been an outpouring of gratitude in the community for Sr. Jeanne's dedication and commitment to St. Rosalie Parish. My boys adored her, and she continued to be a part of our family even after my retirement from teaching. She and my mother were very close friends, too, and she affectionately called my mother her her sister. I have wonderful memories of her last visit to New Orleans back in 2011. I bet she and my mother are having a grand conversation in Heaven along with Fr. Emil , Fr. Jim Curran, and Msgr. Doskey. I'm quite sure the Lord was waiting for His good and faithful servant with opened arms. Godspeed, Sr Jeanne. You will always hold a very special place in my heart. I love you.
