KELLY, Joe (M. Ch., Orth. F.R.C.S.I.) May 28, 2019; (Maree Road, Oranmore, Co. Galway and formerly Béal an Mhuirthead/Belmullet, Co. Mayo) (peacefully) after a sudden illness, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin following the excellent work of the A & E Dept., at UHG. Predeceased by his parents Dr. Thomas and Bridget Agnes and his brothers Tommy and Vivian. Beloved husband of Angela (née Kehoe) and much loved father of Tomás, Joe, Úna, Aonghus, Éadaoin and Galvea, grandfather (Dadó) of Bea, Zolea, Banba, Oscar, Surnaí and Art. Sadly missed by his wife, sons and daughters, grandchildren, sisters Mary, Geraldine and Rosaleen, brother Des, son-in-law Dana, daughters-in-law Elaine and Paula, nieces and nephews, colleagues and many friends. Reposing at home today (Thursday) from 4p.m. to 8p.m. Requiem Mass tomorrow (Friday) at 1p.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Oranmore, Co. Galway. Funeral after Mass to Renville cemetery, Oranmore. Family flowers only and donations in lieu to the Simon Community please if desired. Slán agus grá mo chroí go deo na ndeor.

KELLY Joe, Mch ORTH F.R.C.S.I. (Roseville, Maree Road, Oranmore, Co. Galway, formerly of Béal an Mhuirthead/Belmullet, Co. Mayo), son of the late Dr. Thomas and Bridget Kelly. Acknowledgement of his First Anniversary on May 28. His wife Angela, and family, Dr. Tomás, Joe Jnr, Úna, Aonghus, Éadaoin and Galvea and his brother Dr. Des, sisters Mary, Dr. Geraldine and Rosaleen and the extended family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all the sympathy and support they received following Joe's very sudden death. Many thanks to the wonderful paramedics and staff from A&E UCHG for their prompt and caring attention and to the dedicated staff of the ICU in Beaumont Hospital. Our neighbours and friends have been an unwavering pillar of strength, support, care and love before and during the wake for which we will be ever grateful. Thank you to compassionate celebrants; Fr. Benny Flanagan, Fr. Diarmuid Hogan, Fr. Pádraig Costello and Fr. Simon Cadam for celebrating the Requiem Mass. We also greatly appreciate the musicians, vocalist, poet and choir who gave Joe a memorable farewell. Thanks also to the Captain and Committee of Galf Chumann Oileáin Chonamara who performed a guard of honour, and to Catríona O Flaherty, Funeral Director and her caring staff for their gentle and professional handling of the funeral arrangements. We gratefully appreciate all expressions of sympathy in mass and sympathy cards, donations to the Simon Community and letters of condolence, and also by those who attended the wake and funeral. Owing to Covid-19 the first anniversary mass has been postponed. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for all your intentions.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
