O'CONNELL, Geoffrey Dr./Maj. (late of Dalkey, Dublin and formerly of Omagh, Co. Tyrone and Derrynane, Co. Kerry) (Great-great grandson of Daniel O’Connell ‘The Liberator’) - September 18th, 2019 (peacefully), at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Elm Park. Beloved husband of the late Constance, loving father of Rickard and Danielle and brother of the late Jack, Daniel, Maurice and Dicky. He will be very sadly missed by his loving children, grandchildren Grace, Daniel, Morgan, Charlotte and Elizabeth, daughter-in-law Christine, nephews Johnny, Maurice Geoffrey, Maurice Charles, and Daniel and nieces Emily, Ricarda, and Suzanna, extended family and dear friends. Funeral arrangements will be published in tomorrow morning’s newspaper. “My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends— It gives a lovely light!”
