KILLILEA, Mark; (retired public representative) Caherhugh House, Belclare, Tuam, Co Galway. 31st December 2018. Predeceased by his beloved son, Mark. Peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Much adored and loved husband of Anne and cherished Dad to Eidín, Niamh, Deirbrin, Niall, Donagh, Medbh and Eimhín. Sadly missed by his wife and family, his sister's Bid and Vera, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law Ciaran and Kevin, daughters-in-law Tara, Anna and Ailish and adored Grandchildren Aoibhin, Daire, Shane, Daithí, Lynn, Giolliosa, James, Oisin, Alibhe, Diurmuid and Tess, his many great neighbours, loyal friends and relatives. Predeceased by his sister Marie, and brothers Padraig and Jarlath. Former member of Galway County Council, Seanad Eireann, Dail Eireann and The European Parliament. Reposing at his home this Wednesday evening from 4 o’c until 8 o’c. Removal tomorrow (Thursday) to the Sacred Heart Church Belclare for Requiem Mass at 12 o’c (noon). Burial afterwards in Claretuam Cemetery. House strictly private on Thursday morning. Family request no flowers please. Donations if desired to Tuam Cancer Care or the Hospice Home Care Team. KILLILEA Mark (Caherhugh House, Belclare, Tuam, Co Galway) Mark passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family on New Year's Eve 2018. Mark's wife Anne and family would like to thank sincerely all those who sympathised with them on Mark's passing. We very much appreciated the attendance of Aide De Comps who represented the President of Ireland and the Taoiseach. We are extremely grateful to the fantastic friends who were always so kind and supportive to Mark over the years. A heartfelt thanks to our wonderful neighbours and friends who provided help and welcoming support at our home last January. To the Garda Síochána who ensured the safe access of traffic in the locality, A special thanks to each and every one of you. Sincere gratitude to Fr. Mullins PP and Fr. Gleeson, Belclare for tending to Mark and to Fr. Flannery for concelebrating mass at the Sacred Heart Church in Belclare. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making the Mass such a beautiful service. Special thanks to Mark's friends Ray and Brian for the meaningful eulogy and insightful graveside oration. To Stephen and Edward for the ceremonial folding and presentation of our National flag and to Benny for his thoughtful impromptu musical gesture in Claretuam. Thank you to the Guards of Honour by Fianna Fáil, led by Uachtarán FF Micheál Martin, Tuam Golf and Bridge Clubs and Corofin GAA. Dr. Jarlath Deignan and Dr. Verona Hegarty and the staff in the Bon Secours Hospital Galway, UCHG and the home care teams, we are most appreciative of their care and kindness to Mark. As it is not possible to thank each person individually, please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our appreciation. A Mass has been offered for the intentions of all Mark's first anniversary Mass will be celebrated in Corofin Church, on New Year's Eve, at 7.30pm.
