Dearest friends, I remember staying at you 42 years ago as a student at an English School in Dublin while I was 24. I still have a wonderful memory of you all, especially of Des. I have known just now of his passing away; beleive me I am very sorry for that and for you all. We went together to Limerick one day and you took me at the ferry at DunLaoghaire when I left Ireland: it is one of my strongest memories ever: the ship slowling leaving the harbour and you all weaving your hands. Maybe it was a metaphore of his sad departure. Fabio Milani, Italy

Very sad to hear

Very sad to hear today of Des's sudden passing. I have known him for many years when he used to come to our familie's Chrstmas Party with Norrie and family and later with Francis.

He was always kind, wise and witty and also a great source of strenght and support to our late father Sean and our mother Maura. He will be sorely missed.
