MARRY, Tom. (Ughtyneill, Moynalty, Co. Meath, and Charlestown House, Ardee, Co. Louth). June 19, 2020. Peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda in the presence of Sheila, his wife of fifty-one years and daughter Eilís. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Lil, his brothers Joe, Stephen and Brendan and his sister Maura. Sadly missed by his wife, daughter, sister Sr Teresa, SSL, (California) brother Enda, (Spain), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, friends and members of Cairde Rince Céilí na hÉireann throughout Ireland. After reposing at his home where prayers were led by Fr. William, OCSO, Mellifont Abbey and Very Rev. Fr. Paul Montague, Tom's funeral cortege arrived at St. Patrick's Hall, Ughtyneill on Monday, June 22 at 2.00 p.m. where the road was lined with mourners. Members of the local branch of Cairde Rince Céilí na hÉireann danced at the crossroads and Geraldine Smith played a lament. Private funeral Mass (due to COVID-19 restrictions) was celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Joe McEvoy in the Church of the Assumption, Moynalty at 2.30 p.m. followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Moynalty where his daughter bid farewell with a rendition of Róisín Dubh on the tin whistle.
