REGAN Ciarán M, Emeritus Professor of Neuropharmacology, University College Dublin. Died October 24, 2014 - On the First Anniversary of his death, Ciarán's wife Veronica, his mother Ethna, his brothers Colm, Brian, Conor and their families, stepchildren Jason, Rebecca and Stephen James would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and family members who supported them at the time of his death and during this first deeply sad year without him. We would like to thank Dr. Sinead Cuffe and her team and the nursing staff of St. James's Hospital who cared for Ciarán. We would like to thank ARC Cancer Support for their unfailing kindness. We would like to express our gratitude to Brian Whiteside of the Humanist Association of Ireland who conducted the celebration of Ciarán's remarkable life with such skill and empathy. We would like to thank Dr. Keith Murphy and Dr. Frank Walsh for their eloquent tributes and Ania Corless for reading one of Ciarán's favourite poems. Our gratitude too goes to all the many friends and family who attended the funeral; some who travelled very long distances to be with us. We are grateful too for the many cards and letters of sympathy which are of great comfort. Our heartfelt thanks go to our dear neighbours whose support continues to mean so much. "The life given us by nature is brief,
but the memory of a life
well spent is eternal".
