ELLIOTT - Kenneth (Freffans, Trim, Co. Meath) died on June 9, 2024. On this, Ken's First Anniversary, his wife Mary, children Peter and Alan, daughter-in-law Zoƫ, grandchildren Theadora and Frederick, and his wider family all wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on the passing of our beloved Ken. We thank all who attended the reposal at our home and his funeral service in Dardistown Crematorium, especially those who travelled long distances to be with us. To all who sent cards, letters, or wrote tributes on RIP.ie, we thank you. We appreciate our friends and neighbours, as well as his former work colleagues at the European Commission's Food and Veterinary Office in Grange, who respectfully bid farewell as his cortege left his home and as it passed his former workplace. Thanks to Ken's oncologist Prof. Grainne O'Kane and her outpatient oncology team at St James's Hospital, who supported Ken with empathy and professionalism throughout his illness. Thank you also to Mr. Denis O'Sullivan of The Hermitage Clinic for his professional care. We thank the Palliative Care Team of Kells, Co. Meath for their regular visits and professional input. Also thanks to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and Our Lady's Hospital Navan. We thank our ambulance service for their dedicated care when we had to call upon them for help. To all our relatives, friends, neighbours, and former work colleagues who supported us in many ways throughout Ken's illness, we say thank you. Our thanks to Funeral Directors William Ryan and Sons of Summerhill, Co. Meath for organising the funeral arrangements in a dignified and sympathetic way. At his memorial service, thanks to Philip, Frank, and Frankie for their personal tributes to Ken as a brother-in-law, college friend, and former work colleague, respectively. We also thank his former colleagues in the FVO office and Department of Agriculture NI who passed on their remembrances of Ken. We are so grateful that Ken was well enough to stay at home until a few days before his passing. His final days were spent in the compassionate care of St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown. We trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by you as a token of our deepest appreciation and gratitude. Ken is interred in Shanganagh Cemetery, Shankill, Dublin.Sadly missed but remembered with love.
