To Sarah's family and friends I extend my deepest sympathy on the loss of Dear Sarah . I had not seen Sarah for many years since a reunion with friends from TCD who studied Russian together. She was a remarkable person who bore her long illness so bravely. She will be remembered with great fondness by all who knew her.

Sorry for your trouble, Paddy. I never met Sarah, but it sounds as if she had a very interesting life, like most members of your family. RIP

On behalf of the Faculty of AHSS, we are deeply saddened to hear of Sarah’s passing. A truly remarkable colleague, she enriched the lives of her students and all who worked alongside her. Warm-hearted and endlessly generous, she offered guidance and support to anyone in need. She transformed the study of literary and cultural translation at Trinity College and was a leading light in the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies. Sarah stood up for what she believed in and advocated for it with courage and conviction. She will be greatly missed by her many former students, colleagues, and friends. We extend our deepest sympathies to her family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Carmel O'Sullivan, Dean AHSS, Trinity College
