BATES, J. Ray (Dublin and Kilmore Quay) - Emeritus Prof. of Meteorology, Copenhagen University and Adjunct Prof. of Meteorology UCD, peacefully at Blackrock Hospice on 6 January, 2024. Sadly missed by his loving wife Natasha. Predeceased by his late wife Zaira in 2003. Deeply mourned by his siblings, Trish, Eugene, Billy, Declan, Kathleen, Dick and Margaret; his step-son Alex, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and the extended Bates family in Wexford. Reposing at Red Gables, Kilmore Quay, Y35HD00, from 2pm to 5pm on today (Monday) 8th January; otherwise house private please. Funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Church, Kilmore Quay on Tuesday 9th January at 11am, followed by burial in Kilmore Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers to Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services. May he rest in peace
